While the fanatics and “contactees” received telepathic messages from the all-seeing, all-knowing “Brothers” in Outer Space; while tall, blond Venusians were coming to save us from the evils of our ways; while tiny green men from some other planet were coming to invade our planet; while thousands of more ordinary citizens had been burned, paralyzed and, in a few cases, even killed by the presence of those mysterious objects in the sky: the fantastic fifties where dominated by music. Somebody somewhere was trying to tell us something and it is time for us to listen.
